Kheerganga Day Trek Overview
Due to government restriction of camping at Kheerganga top, many trekkers now prefer to do the trek in a single day instead of normal 2 days 1 night. One day trek also fits well in the plan of people who are coming to explore Kasol for 2-3 days where one single day is dedicated to the most famous attraction of Kasol that is Kheerganga trek.
Start from Barshaini early in the morning at 7 am, trek through forest, villages and wooden bridges all the way to Kheerganga meadows. Enjoy some time at the top and take a dip in the hot spring water and then head back to the Barshaini.
The trek distance is around 12 km one way from Barshaini to Kheerganga, so you will cover around 24 km in a single day, with 5–6 hours of ascent and 3–4 hours of descent for an average, reasonably fit person.

Who Should Do Kheerganga Trek in A Day?
A one‑day Kheerganga plan works well if:
- You’re already in Kasol / Manikaran / Barshaini and only have a single day to trek.
- You’re comfortable hiking 24 km in a day
- You want the full trail—Nakthan, Rudra Nag, forest sections, hot springs but don’t want to sleep in a tent.
Note: If you are new to trekking or are travelling during the monsoon or winter months, then classic 2D/1N Kheerganga trek package is the best.
One Day Itinerary
Important: Exact trek start and end time may vary depending on the group preference and trekking speed. We can customize this trek as per trekkers’ preferences if you have your own minimum 4 people group. If not then you have to follow our group departure timing.

FAQs – One‑Day Kheerganga Trek from Barshaini
Can I do Kheerganga up and down in one day if I’ve never trekked before?
Yes, you can do the trek in a day but you need to have a basic level of fitness. Just 15 days before the trek we suggest you climb 100-150 stairs to build your stamina. Kheerganga is easy to moderate and can be completed in a day. If you’re unsure, then you can go for the 2D/1N trek
What time do we need to start from Barshaini?
If you want to complete the trek in a day then we suggest to be on the trail by around 7:00 am. That gives you time to climb up, spend a little while at the top, and descend in full daylight.
How much time do we get at the top?
Generally you will get to spend 60-90 minutes at Kheerganga, enough for a quick hot‑spring soak, temple visit, lunch and photos. But this depends on your trekking speed at what time you reach the top. Your guide will tell you exact time based on the real scenario.
Is a one‑day trek recommended in monsoon or deep winter?
Monsoon makes the trail muddy and slippery and raises the risk of road and trail disruptions, winter can add snow and ice. In these conditions, we recommend a 2-day, 1-night trek for your safety.
