Kheerganga is a high-altitude meadow nestled in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh, known for its natural hot spring pools, lush green landscapes, and spiritual significance. The trail winds through ancient forests, picturesque villages, and alongside the roaring Parvati river — making it one of India’s most beloved beginner treks.
At the summit, trekkers are rewarded with a sacred hot spring pool, sweeping views of snow-capped peaks, and a collection of basic guesthouses and camps that make overnight stays magical.

Why take this route?
Both routes converge at the same Kheerganga meadow and hot springs. You can ascend via one route and descend via the other for a scenic loop experience. Our guides are familiar with both trails.
Although Kheerganga is beginner‑friendly in terms of altitude and terrain, it is still a Himalayan trek and deserves the same respect as any mountain trail. Weather at 2,500–3,000 metres can shift suddenly, and fog or rain can turn a straightforward path into a slippery one. Staying close to your guide, avoiding shortcuts, and listening to safety instructions is not optional, it’s what makes sure everyone returns safely.
For fitness, you don’t need an athlete-like fitness level, but walking 30–45 minutes a day for a couple of weeks before your trip, preferably on inclines or stairs, will make your trek day far more enjoyable. We do not recommend the trek for children under seven or for anyone with serious heart, lung or uncontrolled blood‑pressure issues without a doctor’s clearance. Alcohol and intoxicants are not allowed while trekking and at the campsite because they impair judgment and increase the risk of injuries during the trek.
The entire Kasol–Kheerganga–Manikaran region is environmentally sensitive. The trail passes through forests and small villages where waste management infrastructure is minimal, so every wrapper that goes in your pocket should come back out with you preferably all the way to a proper dustbin in Kasol. Water is a limited resource in higher camps, using it mindfully in washrooms and for washing helps the ecosystem and local communities.
At Manikaran Gurudwara and temples, modest clothing, removing shoes before entering prayer areas, sitting for langar if offered, and following basic etiquette not only shows respect but also deepens your own experience of the place.

Pro Tip: Leave Jeans at Home
Cotton jeans absorb water and take forever to dry. They become extremely heavy and cold on wet trails. Always opt for quick-dry synthetic trekking trousers. Your knees will thank you.

This was my first Himalayan trek, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Local guide was patient with beginners and always checked if everyone was comfortable. The route was well planned with enough breaks for photos and refreshments. The forests, waterfalls, and river crossings made every section exciting. Thanks to entire team of Kheerganga Trekking Adventure for making it the most memorable experience of my life.

The trail takes you through dense pine forests, wooden bridges, waterfalls, and beautiful mountain villages, with stunning views almost throughout the journey. Our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure everyone in the group maintained a comfortable pace. He shared interesting stories about the local culture and helped us discover a few hidden viewpoints along the trail. Reaching Kheerganga and soaking in the natural hot water spring after the trek was an unforgettable experience. Everything was well-organized,

It was an amazing trek with my friends. We liked the complete experience. Vinu Thakur from Kheerganga Trekking Adventure was always available on call whenever we faced any issues and they were solved instantly. Trek guide, camp staff, trip leader all were very friendly and polite. This was our first Himachal trek. It was amazing. Great views, beautiful trail, but a very tiring trek due to travel from Delhi

This was my first Himalayan trek, and it exceeded my expectations. I joined this trek from Jaipur to Delhi with my friends. The support team was always available whenever anyone needed help. The food served at the campsite was fresh and tasty, and the evening bonfire with games gave everyone a chance to interact and have fun. Overall, a well-planned trip.
