Tosh Village Trek Overview

Tosh village is accessible by road from Barshaini. However, many of our travellers prefer walking the old trail between Barshaini and Tosh, which covers around 3–4 km and takes 2-3 hours. The trek starts from Barshaini and it goes through pine forests, apple orchards and small Himachali villages. It takes approx 2-3 hours to reach main Tosh village, a quaint small Himalayan hamlet located at 2400m famous for cascading waterfalls and bohemian cafes.

During your trek to Tosh village you will pass through scenic places like Tosh Bridge, Jurassic Park view point while Tosh river flows alongside.

This 1N/2D Tosh trek can be added in 3-4 days Kasol Kheerganga trip and perfect for first time trekkers. It can also be the base camp for trekkers who are planning Kheerganga trek as its last village in Parvathi valley accessible by road.

FAQs – Tosh Village Trek

1. How difficult is the Tosh trek?

Tosh trek is considered as easy with a gradual climb and some short, steep or rocky sections. It can be easily done by beginners in 2-3 hours with breaks.

It generally takes 2-3 hours to complete the one way Tosh trek for a person with basic fitness. Total walking in this package is around 3-4 hours that include a visit to the waterfall and upper villages including breaks and photos.

The best time for Tosh is from April to June and September to November, when the weather is pleasant, trails are open and views are clear. Monsoon months (July–August) bring heavy rain and very slippery trails, and winter months (late December–February) can see heavy snow and road closures to Tosh.

Yes, Tosh is one of the best beginner‑friendly treks in Parvati Valley with a short hike from Barshaini. Active kids and elderly people with basic fitness can generally do the trek. Also, our local guides are always there to help trekkers and we arrange special family friendly stays if you are coming with the family.

You will get the mobile network in Tosh and during the trial but not a stable one. Jio or Airtel generally have the network at the Tosh village, but you should not depend on stable data. Many cafés and homestays offer Wi‑Fi, but speeds can be slow or inconsistent, especially in bad weather or peak crowd days.

There are no ATM’s in Tosh so it is recommended to carry some cash from Kasol before going for the trek. Most of the cafes and shops accept UPI payment but still you should carry some cash in case of network issues.

Yes, many travellers also do Tosh as a day hike from Barshaini, especially if they are short on time or already have stays booked in Kasol. In that case you should start early from Barshaini, keep 3–4 hours for trekking and at least 1–2 hours to relax in the village before heading back by late afternoon.
